Can a SANY SY500H Excavator stand up to a CAT 349?

The CAT 349 has long been considered the king of large excavators. Could a SANY SY500H ever stand up to it?

This recent customer has rented several excavators that were typically CAT brand. Installing a 48" sanitary sewer in Wilder, Kentucky, Gary knows his crew requires a machine that is:

- Smooth to operate
- Powerful enough to dig in the hard Kentucky clay
- Steady on the hillside when pulling substantial weight,
- And that has a cab that sits high enough for the operator to see into the deep trenches.

Gary had never heard about the SANY brand. When he came across Newman Tractor's line of SANYs for the first time, he didn't know that the SY500H would be built to be so stout and powerful.

The sanitary sewer that Gary's crew is putting in includes installing 2,000 feet of pipe, pulling 24-foot trench boxes with 10-foot spreaders, and picking up manhole bases that are over 20,000 pounds. Gary explained that they were struggling to accomplish the job with their previous 349 CAT. However, they have been grateful to find the SY500H able to pull its weight with no problem at all.
